TThe article presents modern views of domestic and foreign authors on the issues of etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of one of the least studied and difficult to treat complications of injuries and surgical interventions on the knee joint - reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) or complex regional pain syndrome type I (CRPS type I) ). The purpose of the review is to familiarize practicing orthopaedic surgeons with this challenging complication in order to improve the results of its diagnosis and treatment and to reduce the number of unnecessary repeated operations on the knee joint.
