The reformation of the Kuban Cossack Army and the organization of combat training in it in the 60s of the XIX century

The article highlights the main milestones of the reform in the 60-70-ies of the XIX century of the second most important irregular military formation of the country - the Kuban Cossack Army. The changes that have occurred in the organization of combat training of personnel are considered separately. The article shows the fundamental role of the Defense Ministry and its Minister D.A. Milyutin in the field of transformations in the army. The materials of the article are based on key regulatory documents governing the basis for organizing pre-conscription training for non-serving Cossack youth, training Cossacks serving in parts of the first stage, as well as organizing annual military fees for preferential Kuban Cossacks. The article emphasizes the role and importance of the leaders of the army, officers and the public in the development of general and military education, the creation of training Cossack military units in Kuban.
