The paper studies the problem of changes in legal and property status of budget institutions resulting from adoption of the Russian Federation Federal Law № 83-FZ «On Introduction of Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation concerning the Improvement of State (Municipal) Institutions Legal Property Status». Specific character of financial provision, economic activity, property rights and obligation responsibilities of different types of state (municipal) institutions is established.
