The article is devoted to the analysis of the regional educational policy of the PRC in the modern conditions. The authors analyze the specifics of China's educational policy based on material from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Inner Mongolia is a border region of China, and the central government sees it as a special direction in the implementation of both domestic and foreign policies. For other ethnic regions, Inner Mongolia acts as an example of phased effective development of the territory. In the foreign policy, the emphasis is made on relations with Mongolia and the border regions of Russia, including in terms of education and academic mobility. This article is a continuation of the authors’ research on China's soft power in education.
