Regional characteristics of the Russian language in Buryatia

The article is devoted to identifying regional features in the Russian literary language functioning on the territory of Buryatia. We characterize the functional properties of regionalisms in communicative speech environment of Ulan-Ude and the districts of the republic. The paper shows that the literary Russian language in Buryatia has absorbed regional, ethnic vocabulary which gives the language a special sound, meaning tonality.
