The regional approaches to improving the system of tourism statistics

At present time, new approaches to the development of regional and municipal statistics, which involve the introduction of new statistical indicators and forms of reports are created. This article presents the regional experience of organization of statistical observation in the sphere of tourism on the example of the Republic of Buryatia. A special attention in improving the system of tourism statistics, according to the authors, should be paid to finding the other methods of statistical observation, including monitoring of tourist organizations, regular statistical surveys. It proves the necessity of the regional tourism department statistics, in which you can ensure the completeness of the collection and accuracy of information, the formation of a system of indicators that comprehensively characterize the development of tourism, monitoring tourism sector (monthly), as well as conducting special regional surveys.
