The relevance of this study is due to the contraction of the global labor market in 2022, which is caused by the new geopolitical situation, uneven recovery from the pandemic and the presence of trade barriers. These factors create the conditions for a recession, combining inflation and economic contraction. Many countries have not yet reached the levels of employment and working hours recorded at the end of 2019, before the onset of the COVID-19 crisis. Moreover, rising food and commodity prices caused by negative spillovers have increased producer prices and consumer prices, forcing central banks to adopt accommodative policies. If the recovery continues into 2024-25, real incomes will decline as prices rise above nominal incomes, creating pressure in high-income countries and spreading through global supply chains to middle-income countries. Continued trade disruptions also threaten employment prospects and quality, particularly in border markets, limiting the potential for a rapid labor market recovery. The purpose of the study is to determine the directions of development of the regional labor market and ways of regulating it. To achieve this goal, the following tasks are envisaged: consideration of the labor market in Russia and abroad, identification of key organizations and regulatory documents, as well as analysis of ways to regulate the labor market in various countries of the world (including Russia, European countries, USA, China, India, UK, countries of Africa and South America and others).
