Regulation of the institute of citizenship: analysis of legal amendments

The article is devoted to the legal analysis of the changes made to the Federal Law No. 62-FZ of May 31, 2002 “On Russian Federation Citizenship”. The article touches upon the meaning of the amendments concerning the introduction of taking the oath when accepting citizenship in the Russian Federation, the granting of a residence permit and citizenship for residents of Ukraine, withdrawal of citizenship of the Russian Federation from foreign persons who have been convicted of terrorist activities. The article analyzes the positive and negative aspects of the all above-mentioned changes. The legal framework of the Institute of Citizenship of the Russian Federation is compared with the legislation of foreign countries.
