This article analyzes the issue of correlation of religion and culture in the artistic cre-ativity of S. Durylin. It analyzes the specific approach of the thinker to the essenceof Christian culture. It makes an attempt to carry out a consistent analysis of ele-ments of ontology, anthropology and eschatology as components of the philosophyof culture. Article considers the ontological model built in Plato and Plotinian keyof separation of being into two levels: a genuine and non-genuine. It raises the prob-lem of the relation of mind and body, ideas and matter, selfhood and person. Manwithin this paradigm is interpreted from the point of view of the struggle of an an-gel and a devil, earthly reality - in terms of the ratio of existence and nonexistence,history - with regard to the implementation of being within. According to Durylinmythologema of Holy Russia as a ”being” in Russia plays a special role in its histor-ical perspective. The article analyzes the various options of eschatology offered byDurylin.
