Religion, identity of the Chingisids and institutions of public authority in the Manchu-Mongol world in the first third of the 20th century (on the example of Khulun-Buir)

The article analyzes various aspects of the history of Buddhism and shamanism in the territory of Hulun-Buir in the first third of the 20th century. The authors study the religious and political relationships of the Hulun-Buir officials with the Bogdo Gegen and the government of Outer Mongolia and the activities of the Egudser-khutuhta and 9th Panchen Lama in the region. Researchers suggest that some ethnic groups in Hulun-Buir wrongly considered themselves descendants of the Mongol Empire.
