The article introduces the data of the sociological survey “Religious and Ethnic Identification of the Far East Population at the Beginning of the XXI Century”, conducted from April 2020 to September 2021 in the Amur Oblast among different age groups. The author provides answers to four blocks of questions: the number of believers, their confessional affiliation, their motivation for adopting faith, and the place of religion in the lives of those surveyed, and draws preliminary conclusions. A large proportion of the survey participants, when designating their worldview status as “believer”, have no clear idea of what this means. There is an extremely low level of confessional “literacy” and willingness to participate in ritual and ceremonial activities among those surveyed. When self-indoctrinated with a particular religion, most believers claim it has little impact on their lives. The data obtained from the sociological survey require correlation with similar studies carried out in the Far East.
