Zhukovsky's last poem "The Wandering Jew", regarded by him as the final one, is considered by the author of the article in the context of life changes in the poet's moods, caused by a gradual transition from educational views to a religious-mystical worldview, with special attention to the revelation of John the Divine. Zhukovsky acts not only as a poet-romanticist, but also as an independent myth-maker, skilfully interlacing biblical events, his own interpretation of the myth about Agasphere and Napoleonic theme.
