The works of Konstantin Leontiev and Lev Tikhomirov, focused on the fundamental principles of Russian state - Orthodoxy and monarchy, have laid the basic concepts and traditions of Russian political philosophy. The article deals with the religious and political ideas of the thinkers, tracing their interrelation and continuity. The authors conclude that the depth and originality of K. Leontiev’s and L. Tikhomirov’s comments on social and psychological aspects of Russian and world history can be explained by their religious worldview.
