The article analyzes the origins of religious reformation, due to the spiritual right of a person to a personal inner choice of a satisfying meaning of faith and the construction of socio-cultural meanings; manifestations of the cognitive freedom of the individual to interpret the Holy Scriptures. The study of religious reformation shows that the social phenomena of a protest against a religious cult are determined by the search for a consonant model of social identity with the religious practice of the people. If spiritual culture does not make it possible to fill the realization of the moral needs of the intellectual practice of the people, then new social meanings of social relations form the need for other moral values. With the inviolability of religious dogma, it is the organization of a religious cult that develops a critical understanding of the Bible and the search for moral foundations for social interaction between people through a protest against religious fears that ensure the hierarchy of the cult of the church over the freedom to choose the spiritual experience of an individual.
