The article considers religion as a worldview that influences human behavior, analyzes its functions, causes of occurrence and development. The conclusion is substantiated that religious beliefs, which form the spiritual basis of a person's cultural code, have an impact on legal culture. This is reflected in criminal and civil legislation and other branches of law.
