The paper analyzes the relativistic concept of truth, which develops an individual approach to the interpretation of the meaning of statements. This is its main difference from the correspondence theory of truth and the coherence theory of truth, which are aimed at forming an ideal model of language with strict concepts that reflect the material world. One of the most famous representatives of the relativistic approach is the American philosopher D. Davidson. In his works, he writes that the interpretation of the meaning of a statement depends on the place, time and speaker’s intentions. If the content and focus of these aspects change, there is a change in the interpretation of meaning. According to the author of the paper, the relativistic concept of truth, aimed at individual understanding, is more productive for communication and dialogue.
