Replication of the process of urbanized culture technologization by the urban population

The problem of reproduction of processes introducing technical and technological elements into modern urbanized culture is considered. The analysis is based on the concept of the development of the city as a complex sociobiotechnical system characterized by specific metabolism. In empirical terms, the work is based on the results of the sociological study “Sociocultural consequences of the formation of urbanized sociobiotechnical systems” conducted by the authors in the cities of Belgorod region in January 2020. It included a questionnaire survey of the urban population using the quota sampling technique (n = 500), an expert survey (n = 30), conducting two focus groups. The findings suggest that the majority of the urban population evaluates the technologization of culture negatively rather than positively. Respondents attribute this process to the deterioration of the “quality” of culture, which is mainly expressed in the increase in the production of “cultural garbage”.
