Fertility tourism in Russia: opportunities and challenges

The author discusses fertility or reproductive tourism; that is, the practice of traveling for fertility treatments, including in-vitro fertilization, to the regions, which officially authorize the procedure. The article offers a case study of Italian legal regulation (2004), prohibiting related reproductive practice, to show its influence on the economic and demographic indicators. The author lists factors, which prevent the development of fertility tourism in Russia.
