Resocialization of convicts in Russia: a modern view

The article examines the current state of the process of resocialization of convicts in Russia. The author notes that this process covers both legal and socio-psychological aspects, requiring coordination of the efforts of various state bodies and society as a whole. The position is justified that the main goal of resocialization is to reduce recidivism in the country. A consideration is expressed about the significance of the Federal Law «On Probation in the Russian Federation» for the process of resocialization of convicts. Based on the analysis of modern problems of resocialization, the author concludes that the process of resocialization of convicts is complex and directly depends on the activities of the legislative and executive branches.
