Retrospective review of juvenile delinquency prevention: Kievan Rus', Muscovy, Russian empire

The historical development of the system of juvenile delinquency prevention is considered in the article in chronological order from Ancient Russia to the Soviet period of history. It was concluded that on the territory of our fatherland there was no common concept of awareness of the essence of youth delicts prior to the reign of Catherine II, and the need for their separation from crime in general did not exist. Since the second half of the 18th century, the course has been set for the humanization of criminal law policy in relation to juvenile delinquency and for preventive activity as the most promising direction in combating juvenile delinquency.
