Retrospective assessment of school and family concept in the formation of ethnocultural identity

The article presents the results of sociological studies of forming the ethnocultural identity of the youth in the region. In particular, there was performed the retrospective assessment of the role of school and family in the formation of interest in the culture and history of the ethnic group and other peoples living in the region. The answers of respondents are compared depending on their ethnicity. Based on the respondents’ answers, it is shown that school plays the main role in the formation of interest in the culture of other peoples, mobilizing students for interaction and forming a tolerant attitude towards representatives of other ethnic groups. The assessment of the significant role of the family in the understanding of historical events and problems of modern politics is presented.
