Retrospective analysis of demography and specifics of settlement of Orenburg region

The paper presents a retrospective analysis of the changes in the number of population in Orenburg region. The authors analyze the current demographic situation in the region and reveal its main factors. They also study the specifics of the settlement of the Orenburg region. The study is based on statistical data. The authors examine centripetal tendencies in the resettlement which are typical for the majority of regions of Russian Federation, and also identify and analyze the distinctive features of dynamics of spatial and temporal distribution of population in Orenburg region.
