Gross domestic product is probably the most important and "suitable" indicator for the purpose of determining the characteristics and economic condition of the country and comparing it to the level at the macroeconomic level. In the article the main socio-economic indicators of Russian administrative units of different levels of integration, which allows to identify the main indicators characterizing the differences and common areas. The changes in gross regional product in Russia in general, as well as by federal districts and regions; its composition and structure. In view of the importance of identifying and comparing the value of gross regional product with other key socio-economic indicators, inherent in individual subjects of the Russian Federation, in order to ensure the clarity and comparability of data for further, held group of the Central Federal District in terms of gross regional product in conjunction with the values of the main socio-economic performance of regions. The proposed grouping system not only allows you to judge the level of development of regions (in terms of volume of the gross regional product and other economic indicators), but also has scientific and practical potential and could be expanded and used in the analysis of the state of the Russian regions as a whole.
