The issue of periprosthetic infection is of a greate importance due to continuous annual growth of total knee arthroplasty procedures. In majority of cases only surgical intervention gives the chance to cure infection.Current review is dedicated to comparison of controversial treatment strategies from the point of indications and contraindications, surgical techniques, impant types, economic feasibility and final outcomes.One-staged revision arthroplasty seems to be less studied but nevertheless still promising approach for treatment of periprosthetic infection while two-staged exchange remains currently the gold-standart.
