The article discusses the problem of revolution as a subject-matter of philosophical and political discourses. The author considers the works of a French philosopher A. Badiou as a theoretical foundation, where the differences between the political philosophy and the philosophical attitude to the issue of revolution are shown. Therefore, the research focuses on the most important concept in the theoretical system of A. Badiou; it is the concept of event that is interpreted by the philosopher as a form of distinction between world and being. The main thesis, which is necessary for further discussion of the ideas of Badiou, is the justification of the political conditions of self-determination of the philosophy as it is.
