Reserves of energy efficiency increase of locomotives when processing diverse information

Reducing wastage of fuel and energy resources is an important task of the locomotive system of «Russian Railways» and, specifically, «East-Siberian Railway». One way to reduce energy inefficiency of «Russian Railways» is the creation of real-time monitoring of consumption of diesel fuel and electricity intended for the transportation and support processes to operate the rolling stock. This article gives the assessment of the main reserves of fuel and power increase of locomotives and various programs aimed at improving the working structures serving lokomotive economy. The tasks in the field of fuel and energy reduction are identified. It is noted that the reduction in fuel consumption is influenced by proper maintenance and proper use of auxiliary equipment (compressors, fans, refrigerators, etc.), for which work it is spent on average for locomotives of 8-14% of power of the diesel at the nominal mode. The actions directed on decrease in nonproductive costs of fuel and energy resources for draft of trains and increase of power efficiency of transportation process in a locomotive complex of JSC RZhD are considered.
