Results of archaeological research of settlement Krasnoyarsk Borok-2 in 2015-2016

As a part of complex research of Novosibirsk Reservoir islands Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography SB RAS excavated on settlement Krasnoyarsk Borok-2. As a result of that work the cultural layer has been studied. It contains artifacts of the Middle Ages, particularly X-XIII century. The total amount of the obtained material is 183 units. It characterizes the cultural layer as a little saturated, that is quite typical for the Ob monuments of the Middle Ages. In addition, three ground adjacent constructions were fully investigated. The structures were represented by shallow pits and were surrounded by circular ditches with outlets and shafts. According to preliminary results of the archaeological research, these constructions were not settlements and have religious meaning. Some of the features not typical for homes evidence this: the complete absence of finds in the center of the structures; the absence of hearths inside and outside the structure; the absence of pits traces in the center and in the entire area of the structure; construction are too monumental to be a temporary habitation.
