The article provides information on response of 60 patients with basal cell carcinoma (BCC), stages Т1-3N0M0, to photodynamic therapy. The response was estimated by results of clinical and laboratory examination following the treatment. At the beginning of the treatment 56 patients (93.3%) had solitary lesions and 4 patients (6.7%) had multiple lesions, a total of 64 lesions. The age of patients varied from 31 to 80 years, 64 years on an average. Average age of women (36 patients) was 66 years and men (24 patients) - 64 years. Distribution of tumors in relation of the stage: Т1N0M0 - 38 lesions (59.4%), Т2N0M0 - 23 lesions (35.9%), Т3N0M0 - 3 lesions (4.7%). Clinical presentations of the basal cell carcinoma were as follows: superficial BCC - 19 lesions (29.7%), peptic ulcer - 27 lesions (42.2%), nodular - 16 lesions (25.0%), sclerodermoid - 2 lesions(3.1%). Analysis of short-term and delayed results of treatment of different clinical presentations of BCC demonstrates high efficiency of photodybamic therapy with local application of radachlorine as photosensitizer.
