Results and perspectives of soybean breeding in the eastern part of the forest-steppe of Ukraine

The paper presents the analysis of the results of breeding work with soybean in the north-eastern part of the forest-steppe of Ukraine. The characteristic of the developed cultivars as to the level of crop yielding ability and protein and oil yield per area unit is given. Genetic diversity of soybean as to fatty-asid composition in oil is shown. The perspectives for soybean cultivars breeding for various purpose use including with genetically improved grain quality are outlined.
