The following research presents the analysis of the theoretical approaches to the motivation problem in foreign and native psychological literature. It gives the results of empirical research of the level of development of motivational-semantic field of students in socio-cultural environment of professional college. Thus, the differences in the characteristics of a motivational-semantic field of students of professional college and comprehensive school are revealed.
