Common mustard is valuable crop in agronomy adapted to the different cultivation conditions, able to produce yield in economically important volumes even in unfavorable environments. Perspectives to enlarge cultivation areas under mustard conclude in development of new varieties combining high yield, oil content and essential oil content in seeds, meeting the requirements of agricultural products producers in the different agricultural and ecological environments. We conducted our tests in the Krasnodar, Rostov and Omsk regions in 2016-2017. An ecological estimation of the promising samples of common mustard developed in the All-Russia Research Institute of Oil Crops by Pustovoit V.S. (VNIIMK, Krasnodar) and tested in the different conditions of continental and moderately continental climates of the Krasnodar, Rostov and Omsk regions showed its high adaptability. The variety samples 22585, 741, 21781 were stable on their economically valuable traits independently on place and conditions of trials. A variety Yunona and sample 21781 were the most productive for two testing years. The average yield for two years of research was 2.71 and 2.65 t per ha, respectively. The results of ecological tests conducted in the Western Siberia allowed selecting sample of common mustard 22587 which showed maximal yield (3.34 t per ha) and oil content in seeds (49.2%). This sample was submitted to the State commission on variety tests as a new common mustard variety Valenta.
