Treatment results in patients with complicated colon cancer

Efficacy of various surgical methods for treatment of stenotic colon cancer was analyzed. Patients of the studied group (n=53) underwent laparoscopic colostomy followed by colon lavage and radical surgery. The control group of the patients (n=84) underwent one-stage surgery after the standard preoperative preparation. Preoperative laparoscopic colostomy significantly reduced the risk of performing obstructive surgeries and the rate of postoperative complications. In the studied group, there were no obstructive resections of the colon. In the control group, obstructive surgeries were performed in 71,4 % of the patients and in only 28,6 % of the cases, it was possible to apply the primary intercolon anastomosis after radical colon resection.
