The content of heavy metals in most of vegetable samples in the regions is not found to exceed the maximum permissible level. The exception is zinc whose content is above permissible level in some feed samples of the Republic of Tatarstan. Evaluation of drinking water for farm animals as for extent of contamination by chemical substances has shown that most of water samples belong to the “permissible” category. The exceptions are water samples from the residential complex “Yukhmachi” of the Alkeevskiy district and “Bolshie Kokuzy” of the Apastovskiy district of the Republic of Tatarstan which belong to the category “high hazardous” and “moderately hazardous” for the content of iron.
