Results of treatment of engine MAK 8M453 with high power with Fe-do mineral friction modifier

Purpose of the study. Determination of the effectiveness of the use of anti-wear, repair and restoration geomodifier of friction surfaces MMPT "Fe-do" in matters of extending the service life of the main wearing parts of the engine: piston rings, bearings, and in general the crank mechanism and the cylinder-piston group. Results. An analysis of the results of the diesel engine after exposure to the modifier allows us to note that an increase in the power of the MaK 8M453S diesel engine and an increase in the power reserve while achieving fuel economy have been recorded. The temperature of the exhaust gases behind the cylinders was 330 °C. The power reserve after applying the anti-wear, repair and restoration geomodifier of friction surfaces MMPT "Fe-do" (in terms of gas temperature) reached 25% and has been provided quite convincingly. The speed of the gas turbocharger at the same loads, but at lower gas temperatures and lower rack indices, has been on average 1000 min-1 less. The result of the inspection and control of the cylinders has showed not only the absence of wear of the piston rings and cylinder liners, but even the restoration of the size of the sleeves to the factory ones, as well as the restoration of the worn surface of the parts to 600 microns. Conclusion. In view of the fact that the results obtained have been confirmed by many tests on tribometers and on friction machines under a variety of test conditions, the repair and restoration geomodifier of friction surfaces MMPT "Fe-do" should be recommended for wider use.
