The results of online and offline surveys on the study of socio-demographic aspects of the krasnoyarsk population’s life amid excessive technogenic pollution of the urban environment

The influence of the environmental situation on the demographic behavior of the Krasnoyarsk population was studied by the author of the article by applying a quantitative sociological study which was conducted in May 2021 by online and offline surveys. During the research, the following issues were studied: the perception by residents of the level of urban environment technogenic pollution; socio-demographic aspects of the population's life; the potential of the people's reproductive and migration intentions; the attitude of the population to a healthy lifestyle; the degree of importance of information about the state of the environment and the level of trust in it for the residents. Analysis of the indicator of the technogenic pollution level perception revealed the fact that the Krasnoyarsk residents assess the environmental situation more objectively when the place of their residence (the administrative district of the city) is directly considered. From the data obtained in the process of sociological research on the perception of demographic aspects of life by residents of the city (birth rate, mortality, and morbidity), it can be noted that their perception of the population of Krasnoyarsk and the Russian Federation largely depends on the health of the population and its components, such as birth rate and mortality rate. At the same time, the assessment of the impact of technogenic pollution on health is largely a subjective indicator. The analysis of the reproductive behavior indicator showed that, in general, the Krasnoyarsk citizens define the difference between the indicators of the expected number of children” and the desired number of children as being close to the all-Russian indicator. The emphasis was placed on the study of the population's physical activity and the practice of timely using of medical care in various organizations.
