This paper presents data on determining the nitrogen status of winter wheat crops for the purpose of timely and high-quality fertilization. Uniform application of fertilizers across a field with uneven nutrient composition in the soil leads to localized overdose or deficiency. The use of this technology allows for a reduction in fertilizer application costs. Heterogeneity of soil properties has a significant impact on the development of winter wheat crops. This can manifest itself in uneven emergence, uneven overwintering, and the formation of uneven seedlings. It is in this case that the use of precision farming techniques such as variable-rate application of mineral fertilizers is most effective. Therefore, the goal of our research was to justify the variable-rate application of nitrogen fertilizers in winter wheat cultivation.
