The results of using new techniques of tibiofibular synostosing in patients with extensive heterogenous tibial defects (review of the dissertation materials of RISC "RTO" employees)

The results of tibiofibular synostosing (TFS) new technologies are presented in patients with heterogenous tibial defects for which the Ilizarov fixator has been used. Both the role and place of TFS are demonstrated in the system of restorative treatment of patients with severe tibial defects. The information obtained expands the possibilities of fibula using on the basis of distraction-compression osteosynthesis. TFS modified traditional techniques and newly developed ones serve an alternative for leg amputation
