The article examines the impact of inflation targeting in Russia during the economic crisis of 2020 caused by the pandemic. The stages of transition to the regime of inflation targeting in the world community are given. The conditions for targeting inflation and the dynamics of inflation in Russia in 2000-2020 are analyzed. A key rate reduction tool is considered as a deterrent to the growth of inflation in Russia.
