The purpose of the study was to validate a new approach to the assessment of clinical probability of pulmonary embolism by computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA). A total of 45 patients with suspected pulmonary embolism were examined. The CTPA symptoms of pulmonary embolism as well as the incidence rates of these symptoms in the study group were identified. Data of the study provided evidence that the proposed method for assessment of clinical probability of pulmonary embolism has high sensitivity and high negative predictive value.
