Risks of victimization of students with mental retardation in the digital space

The article deals with the problem of socialization of personality in the context of digital transformations . At the center of the problem are the risks of victimization of children and adolescents with mental retardation . The essence of digitalization and the terminological field of the phenomenon under consideration are presented . The data on the main patterns and features of information socialization of the individual, motives and individual attitudes towards the digital space, specific characteristics of the digital space (subjective sense of well- being, security, freedom of choice, anonymity, etc .) are systematized . The risks of victimization of the modern personality in the digital space are listed: communicative, electronic, content, consumer, addictive . The results of an experimental study of the potential risks of victimization of students with mental retardation in the digital space are considered . The diagnostic study is based on a survey of parents raising children and adolescents with mental retardation and with conditionally normative development . The following are identified as potential risks of the digital space in relation to students with mental retardation: addictive tendencies (dependence on video games, the Internet, etc .), content (viewing certain media content (cartoons, videos, blogs, etc .), obscene language . The determinants of digital victimization of students with mental retardation are presented: dysontogenetic features; the level of media information literacy; family and pedagogical factors .
