Rhythm as a primary means of shaping woody vegetation in landscape architecture

In his work a landscape architect uses the basic techniques and means of composition. It is proportion, symmetry, asymmetry, scale, meter, rhythm, tectonics, nuance, contrast, identity. Dealing with woody vegetation, it is necessary to take into account the growth and development of trees and shrubs. In the process of growth, tree plantations change their height, crown diameter, thickness and texture of the trunk surface, pattern and thickness of skeletal branches, silhouette radically, that is, all the main indicators that affect the artistic quality of landscape composition. Depending on this change the optimal distance for perception of trees changes too. Laws of development and changes in decorative and artistic forms should be gradually taken into account in the formation of the landscape. Therefore, only possessing the theoretical knowledge in the field of compositional formation of woody vegetation, taking into consideration their natural and decorative qualities, the landscape architect can begin to design his author's landscape organization creating modern gardens and parks. Such means of composition as rhythm is considered in detail. In the following article. Rhythm is one of the most important means of bringing diverse elements of form to unity, ordering their arrangement. Rhythm is a part of various phenomena and forms of nature. In modern landscape architecture, rhythm churning can be perceived as an annoying mistake.
