The article examines the socio-psychological features of the serfs employees of the Ural mining and factory estates of the first half of the 19th century on the basis of information from the diary of young Alexander Teploukhov, a representative of this social group in the Perm estates of major Russian industrialists, politicians, patrons of the Stroganovs It is noted that already at a young age, the employee developed specific features characteristic of the self-awareness of this group, distinguishing it from among the serfs.
