Robotization as a vector of innovative development of the railway industry

Currently, robotic automation is one of the modern tools for digital transformation of the railway industry. The article substantiates the need for deep modernization of the national railway industry through the introduction of robots and robotic systems. We have revealed the nature and mechanisms of the influence of robotization on the railway industry development in Russia. The study is aimed at identifying the most significant manifestations of the impact of robotization on railway enterprises, trends and the nature of such impact. As a result of the study, we have summarized the existing views on the specifics and trends of robotization in the railway industry of Russia. It has been found that the need of the railway industry for robotics is significant. The introduction of robots and robotic systems in the railway sector will bring a noticeable economic effect. Savings will be achieved by reducing costs, increasing control and controllability of a system. There is already experience in the use of robots and robotic systems in the railway industry at home and abroad, such as introduction of remote control, automation, integrated processes and intelligent control systems.
