The author examines the question of the possibility of existence of consciousness in a feral person. Based on the latest discoveries made in the brain research, in particular, the phenomenon of neuroplasticity, the author notes the key role of the adaptive mechanisms of consciousness in the formation of social and feral types of consciousness. The purpose of the study is to analyze the adaptive mechanisms of consciousness in the formation of feral and social types of thinking. The object of research is consciousness.
