The author examines the question of the possibility of existence of consciousness in a feral person. Based on the latest discoveries made in the brain research, in particular, the phenomenon of neuroplasticity, the author notes the key role of the adaptive mechanisms of consciousness in the formation of social and feral types of consciousness. The purpose of the study is to analyze the adaptive mechanisms of consciousness in the formation of feral and social types of thinking. The object of research is consciousness. Research objectives: consider the main theories of consciousness; describe the structural features of the human brain; study the question of the location of consciousness; reveal the features of the phenomenon of neuroplasticity of the brain; find out whether consciousness is a product of society; study social consciousness; describe the features of feral consciousness. The subject of the study is the role of adaptive mechanisms of consciousness in the formation of feral and social types of thinking. Research methods used are systemic and comparative analysis. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the consideration and substantiation of the role of the adaptive mechanisms of consciousness in the formation of feral and social types of thinking.
