The article represents the results of treatment with losartan aimed at correcting endothelial dysfunction in patients with atherosclerotic peripheral arterial disease and prophylaxis of restenosis following arterial reconstructive surgery involving synthetic alloprostheses. The stydy included 100 patients. Administration of losartan promoted correction of endothelial dysfunction, increased nitric oxide (II), glutathion peroxidase and superoxide dismutase secretion, decreased endothelin-1 level. The incidence of restenosis in patients receiving losartan was significantly lower compared to those in control group.
