The article examines the role of the human factor in the conditions of Industry 4.0. As a result of the analysis, various approaches of experts to the problem under study are identified, some scientists are afraid of technological unemployment in the future, others adhere to the integration approach. The advantages and disadvantages of future professions are formulated. The paper concludes on the importance of the integration approach to the human role in the digital age.
