After the establishment of Soviet power in the Russian Far East, the authorities started to pay special attention to the development of state trade in the region. Its formation took place in the context of the implementation of the New Economic Policy in the region and was accompanied by the search for an optimal model of the Soviet distribution system. The state sector of Far Eastern trade was represented in 1922-1929 by Dalgostorg (Far Eastern State Import-Export Trade Office) and several other trading organizations, including branches of all-Union syndicates and trusts. Based on archival materials and published statistical data, the article traces the role of Dalgostorg in the regional trade during the NEP years. The author addresses the issues of state regulation of domestic trade; special attention is paid to the creation of a system of state supply for the northern regions of the Soviet Far East.
