The role of remittances of migrant workers in ensuring food security of the regions of Kyrgyzstan

Currently, unemployment and migration processes in the regions of Kyrgyzstan have a significant impact on food security and are one of the urgent problems. Remittances from labor migrants, in turn, play an important role in ensuring the food security of the regions. This process has become a serious problem, especially during the pandemic, and the reduction in remittances has had a negative impact on food security. In addition, the decline in remittances has led to increased poverty and social problems, which in turn exacerbated food security threats. Especially the issue of food security in the regions of Kyrgyzstan is of serious concern to the most vulnerable segments of the population. Therefore, one of the key factors in reducing dependence on remittances to ensure the food security of the regions is the improvement of the social protection system and the creation of jobs in the regions. The object of the study is the impact of remittances from labor migrants in ensuring food security in Kyrgyzstan and its regions. The subject of the study is the relationship between food security and remittances of labor migrants in Kyrgyzstan and its regions.
