The role of the Federal scientific center of legumens and groat crops in the formation of key points of growth in the production of leguminous crops in the region

For many years, the Federal Scientific Center for Leguminous and Groat Crops has been creating high-yielding varieties of the main leguminous crops in the country on the basis of effective selection methods. The article notes the contribution of the Federal Scientific Center of Legumens and Groat Crops to ensuring the growth of production, in particular, of such crops as soybeans and peas. The organization has created a series of unique pea varieties that have no analogues in the world, combining high yield (5-6 t / ha) and lodging, diseases and pests resistance, non-shattering seeds, determinant type of growth, high protein content. In addition, 8 varieties of soybeans have been created that have early maturity, increased productivity, adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions, high protein and fat content in seeds. The article identifies key and niche crops in terms of production, sales and yield. The qualitative characteristics of the comparative analysis of the selection achievements of the Federal Scientific Center of Legumens and Groat Crops with other domestic and foreign varieties, which make it possible to note the most adaptive varieties of leguminous crops for cultivation in the Orel region, are given. An overview of the state of the production of leguminous crops in the Orel region is presented. The reason for their widespread distribution, due to a wide range of application, is noted. The role of the multidirectional use of their products, both in industry and in the export contribution to the region's economy, is outlined. Their contribution to the economic indicators of the region is indicated due to the retrospective of the dynamics in crop acreage change and yield. The pricing policy is also presented, which is the most important factor in the modern market. The drivers of stabilization and strengthening of demand for sowing peas and soybeans are identified. Based on the generalized conclusions, proposals for the network interaction of scientific, industrial and administrative clusters of the region to improve the efficiency of cultivation of leguminous crops in the Orel region are formulated.
