The role of physical education in the training of cadets of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia

For a long time, physical culture and sports have been a means of harmonious development of the individual. However, at the present stage of development of Russian society, physical education, including in educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, is not given enough attention, which negatively affects the professional training of police officers. According to the data of the Unified Portal of Legal Statistics, the number of illegal acts committed on the territory of the Russian Federation is growing, the number of crimes involving the use of physical violence, firearms and cold weapons, objects used as a tool for committing a crime is increasing. In addition, former servicemen, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB, athletes and other persons with a high level of special and physical training are involved in the circle of criminal activity. A future police officer should react quickly enough to a change in the operational situation, be ready to use combat fighting techniques to detain an offender and suppress resistance in case of his uncontrolled behavior. Training of an internal affairs officer begins in educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. In professional development, physical training is one of the most priority areas. In this regard, the article defines the importance of improving the quality of training in the process of physical training and strengthening the applied orientation of all its forms, as well as the close integration of the discipline «physical training» with other professional disciplines.
